Lee’s look was carefully crafted to reference the themes and characters of Wildwood.

Peyton Elizabeth Lee, the voice of Prue McKeel in the new stop-motion film Wildwood, made a bold fashion statement at the movie’s premiere at AFI Fest 2026. She wore a red crop top and a pale gray skirt from Rosie Assoulin, complete with a French bob and a bold red lip.

Lee’s look was carefully crafted to reference the themes and characters of Wildwood. She explained that the details of an outfit are what make it truly unique, and she incorporated elements that reflected the movie’s focus on nature. For example, she wore floral earrings from Ariana Boussard-Reifel and Pamela Love, which added a touch of timeless beauty and modern sharpness to her overall look.

Lee’s outfit was designed to mirror the coming-of-age journey of her character Prue in Wildwood. The color red, which plays a significant role in the movie’s color story, was a key element of her look. She also drew inspiration from the female villain in the film, played by Carey Mulligan, and aimed to capture the essence of her character’s feminine wickedness.

Lee also incorporated references to the birds that appear in Wildwood, which are a significant part of the film’s narrative and visual experience. She noted that the back of her skirt reminded her of the tail of a bird, and she felt that this element helped to tie her look back to the movie.

Lee has a deep appreciation for the transformative power of fashion. She enjoys the process of getting ready for an event or a day on set, and she loves watching makeup artists and hairstylists work their magic. She also values the physical memories that come with taking Polaroids, which she feels help to capture the essence of a moment.

As Lee looked back on her premiere look, she felt that it had been a fun and creative way to celebrate the spirit of Wildwood. With over 1,000 artists working on the film over the course of 16 years, she wanted to incorporate as much of the movie’s essence as possible into her look. By doing so, she aimed to pay homage to the dedication and meticulous work that had gone into creating the film.
